Reviews
While I'm not a huge fan of French Bistro style restaurants, LA Goulue knocks it out of the park in regards to that department. The whole lunch experience today from the food to the service was fantastic! The restaurant was packed, and I see why, I thought the menu options were great. This establishment even serves sushi, and it was, surprisingly, really good. We will definitely be back!
We went to La Goulue to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It has been on our list for a while and we finally decided to try it. The interior is cozy and charming, we loved it. The service was impeccable, our waiter suggested a Bourgogne that went with fish as well as meat. Great recommendation! The food was incredible too, we started with the escargots, then I had the special of the night which was a perfectly prepared seared tuna, and my husband ordered the scallops. Finally, we had the souffle for dessert which I highly recommend! Overall, a great experience, we will be back!
One down side, the table next to us was rude and not only squashed into the booth (encroaching on our space and crushing my bag), but then when I expressed annoyance, they complained about us for the rest of the dinner. This is nothing against the restaurant though! Just something to note.
I have been to this establishment a few times. Food, staff, ambience is outstanding. Was there to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The appetizers and desserts were amazing. Three of us ordered the duck l'orange. I have had this dish in several other french restaurants, including Paris. The duck was disappointing. The portion was way to small, the duck was tough and more like steak than duck. The peppercorns detracted from the overall taste of the dish. I did NOT say anything to the waitstaff because two others in the party seemed to be enjoying it. After dinner, I found out they had the same thoughts as I did.
I mentioned it to the server who told me had I told her right away, she would have brought me something else. This was MY FAULT - not theirs. At dessert time, they brought a fruit tart which we did not order, but was their way of doing something to make me happy. As I love fruit tarts, I was in heaven. I would go back in a heart beat, but just would not order the duck!
Omg my new amazing discovery! This restaurant should be several Michelin stars. The food the service atmosphere are just incredible. Best French food outside of France
We recently dinned at La Goulue s supper club...it was the most amazing experience, the food was beyond excellent. The short rib sooo succulent. The dancing and the music... was SOOO much fun.. I would absolutely recommend and I will be …
Came in for Easter brunch as this place was on several listicles specifically for that (I didn’t know Easter brunch was a thing that people did, admittedly, so I was very surprised at how busy it was.) Not sure if it was bc of the holiday …
See....I love this place for the ambience alone. But last night's meal was disappointing. Overcooked fish which quite frankly is the worst way to eat anything and the service - very rushed and impersonal. I've been before - last Christmas …
Divine!! Unfortunately, got there too late to have the soufflé for lunch. Got to get in early. Highly recommend the salmon dish.
Love the Ambiance, Menu and Pastis! Fantastic restaurant for a business lunch or birthday dinner that’s sophisticated!
Very beautiful French restaurant. Service is great. Food is good.
The fruit tart was to dieeeee for. Dear restaurant, never take that off the menu .
